Sri Lanka Topography

Hi I’m Isuru Sampath an amateur photographer in Sri Lanka. Contained in this blog are numerous photographs I’ve taken during my many visits across Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is a tiny island in the Indian Ocean, south of Indian sub continent. Sri Lanka was known as Ceylon until 1972. Sri Lanka is surrounded by the Indian Ocean, hence the island was also known as the “Perl of the Indian Ocean”. Sri Lanka is famous for the production and export of tea, coconuts, rubber, coffee, cinnamon, and garments and apparel. Sri Lanka is surrounded by white sandy beaches. Country landscape is compete with central hill region filled with diverse landscapes with rich biodiversity.

Sri Lanka has a long and colorful history of over three thousand years. Interestingly, most of this history is documented and it could be one the longest documented history histories in the world.
